What you’ll do as a Coax Splicer
Performs tasks associated with the electronic upgrade and splicing of cable
Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installation
Self-supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications
Safely operate and use bucket truck to complete daily construction assignments as needed (potentially climb poles)
Complete daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete "as-built maps" for areas built and track daily production
Reconcile all issued parts and materials daily to ensure accurate material usage counts
Frequently work independently
Other splicing related duties as assigned
What you’ll need
To be 18 years of age or older
Authorization to work in the United States for this company
Valid driver’s license
Qualified candidates will have a strong work history, willingness to learn, and a displayed aptitude and commitment to the cable/lineman field
Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
Ability to read and interpret construction prints, plans, and specifications
Basic knowledge of and ability to hand tools and equipment in a safe manner
Physical abilities & exposures
Routinely: Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, climb sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low. The employee will be standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding or stooping while on shift. Ability to distinguish colors
Occasionally: Employees performing these job functions may be required to lift or move up to 10 up to 50 pounds . Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary.
