Gem State Family Eyecare is looking for a full-time Optometry Assistant. The individualqualified for the position must be positive and upbeat, be a team player, willing to learn andgrown, willing to cross train and provide high quality customer service.

Eyecare experience Preferred but not required, on the job training will be provided.

Minimum Qualifications:

- High school diploma/GED- Associate Degree and/or 2 years customer service experience

Job Summary:

The entry level Optometry Assistant escorts the patient through their experience in our office and duties include inputting the case history and pretesting to assisting them pick and purchase glasses orcontacts and checking them out.

Job Description:

Greeting patient by name and escorting him/her back to the exam/testing room

Gather and input medial history and chief complaint

Pretest (Autorefractor, fundus photos, acuities)

Scribing for the doctor

Assist patient in picking out glasses, explain lens benefit, and fit glasses as needed

Provide insertion and removal training for new contact lens wearers

Provide quotes for contacts/glasses

Be able to read and understand vision plan benefits

Order glasses/contacts

Walk patient to front desk for check out

Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
