Position: CEI Bridge and Roadway Inspector

Requisition Number: 2024-1250-01S&ME is currently seeking CEI Roadway and Bridge Inspectors of all TRET levels to be dedicated to major bridge projects in the Princeton, WV area. All inspectors will have a company vehicle and report directly to the project site.About The Role:

As a CEI Roadway & Bridge Inspector, you will perform technical duties associated with the oversight and inspection of transportation projects, including roadways and bridges, to ensure contractor compliance with contracts, plans, and specifications. You will observe and inspect various contractor operations such as clearing and grubbing, earthmoving, paving, concrete pavement, bridge construction, pipe installation, traffic control, and pavement marking. You will be responsible for materials sampling and testing, preparing daily inspection reports, and documenting contractor payments. Additionally, you will perform calculations and documentation related to project inspection and material testing, inspect erosion control devices for compliance with plans and permits, attend progress and safety meetings, and interact with third-party construction personnel. You will also conduct DBE and EEO compliance surveys.CEI Inspectors are subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions and to various types of weather and field conditions, including heights, uneven terrain, highway traffic, hazards of highway construction sites and heavy equipment. CEI Inspectors may work extended hours, weekends and/or holidays.

Pay rate is based on level of experience. Additional incentives are available for existing applicable certifications.About You:

You must have one of the following:

High school diploma/GED required and 4+ years of highway related construction or inspection experience or;

2-year technical degree or higher in Civil Engineering Technology or Surveying Technology with 2+ years of highway related construction experience or;

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or Construction Engineering Technology Degree

WV TRET Certification or ability to obtain WV TRET certification within 6 months

Ability to lift between 40-50 lbs
