Let’s bring to the world the future of mobility.Role Summary:This position is part of the Platform Architecture group at the Volkswagen Automotive Cloud in Seattle, WA. The Platform Architecture group focuses on all aspects of the information and entertainment experience in and outside of the vehicle including device integration, Intelligent Body and Cockpit, Autonomous Driving, Energy and Propulsion, and Service Platform for Cloud Delivered Mobility Services.The Solution Architect – Data plays a key role in defining a holistic view and an implementation roadmap for data schemas, flows, integrity, management, optimization, and analytics.The position’s responsibilities include research and design, prototyping, documentation, and evangelism of short and long term cloud-hosted data architectures. Role Responsibilities:Enterprise Architecture Management (50%)

• Manages standards for cloud technologies – be a leader in understanding, applying, and inventing data design and management patterns
• Participates in development, architecture, and product roadmap work groups
• Designs, prototypes, and documents models and solutions for data ingestion, integration, processing, storing, analysis, visualization, and reporting
• Makes recommendations, gains approval, and develops implementation strategies for new technologies based on the investigation and analysis of business data requirements
• Interacts with other architects, developers, and project teams to continuously advance the overall data architecture
• Ensures the architectural fit and integration of the data management systems produced by the VW Automotive Cloud with the overall global Volkswagen enterprise data architecture
• Plays a key role in domain-driven design, data quality, governance, privacy, and data security
• Ensures an environment for continuous development and deployment

• Supports technology and application lifecycle decisions
• Develops enterprise solution strategies
• Creates project proposals for enterprise capabilities and presents to management
• Provides leadership support for strategic projects in the region to insure alignment with group guidelines
• Shares best practices and ensures communication among the countries
• Defines robust frameworks and toolsets for data flows, ingestion, transformation, management, and analysis
• Defines system wide monitoring strategy

• Minimum of 7+ years IT experience mainly in the area of System Design, Solution Architecture with focus on emerging cloud-centric data management technologies.
• Automotive and business processes experience preferred

• Bachelor in MIS Computer Science or Business Administration

• Master in MIS, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Business Administration

• Ability to multi-task and be organized with multiple projects/tasks at one time

• Experience with relational data design and SQL programming
• Experience with big data design and implementation – ingestion, hubs, lakes, factories, streams
• Extensive experience in cloud data technologies on Azure and/or AWS, for example Spark, Hadoop, Hive, MapReduce
• Experience in working with EA frameworks and methodologies
• Developing conceptual and functional prototypes
• Passion for customer experience and quality
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity
• Builds sustainable relationships with colleagues and customers
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing, and high-throughput environment
• Ability to establish, implement, and enforce appropriate architectural standards and design patterns
• Experience mentoring solution delivery teams using current Agile and DevOps tools and processes

• Language skills in (German, Spanish, Portuguese)
• Knowledge of data science, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning
• Experience with IoT or similar real-time data workflows
• Scripting and utility development in C#, Java, Python, and/or PowerShell

• Must be willing to travel up to 20%
