Aon is looking for a Middle Market Broker in New York City, NY As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting commercial risk. As a Broker you will report directly to the New York Middle Market leader. This role is a hybrid role working to and from our NYC office location. Must be in the office 2-3 days per week. What the day will look like As a Broker you will be focusing on handling new and existing business within the Middle Market Practice. You will build and cultivate relationships with internal teams, external partners and underwriters. You will bring your expertise and knowledge of a broad range of industries within Property & Casualty. Perform the duties of a Middle Market Property and Casualty Broker

Placement of new and renewal P&C programs including drafting submissions

Negotiate and place programs during renewal cycle

Work with Due Diligence team to budget and place new business in very short time frames

Analyze and review insurance programs for clients to determine optimum program including pricing, terms and conditions.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with the carriers that write both Middle Market and Upper Middle Market P&C business

Mentor and help develop associate brokers on the team

Work as a team member and collaborate with other colleagues within the Aon

Support local broking team on loss analysis, benchmarking, data and analytics tools within the Aon team.

How this opportunity is different

The Broker is responsible for the management of a complex portfolio of middle market accounts, including the placement and service, as well as ensuring client deliverables are maintained. This individual is accountable for acting as the representative for the local office or region on new business and renewal opportunities.

The individual leads by example as a strong sponsor of Aon’s Leadership Model; supporting local colleagues; promoting and ensuring connectivity, collaboration and cooperation within local office practices, functions and fostering the sharing of knowledge, best practices and resources around our Property and Casualty accounts.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Required Experience:

3+ years of proven experience placing and servicing P&C business

Proven knowledge of Casualty (Workers Compensation, Commercial Auto, General Liability, Umbrella/Excess) and Property coverages.

An understanding of Middle Market P&C risks and carrier appetites.

Knowledge of Benchmarking and Loss Analysis. Skills and experience that will lead to success

Relationships with the carriers that write Middle Market P&C business.

Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Outstanding Microsoft Suite and presentation skills

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience years of industry experience.

Property and Casualty Broker Licence is required

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $100,00 to $125,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
