DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior Programmer Writer to help document Amazon's public Advertising API. The services that make up the Amazon Advertising API are instrumental to enabling advertisers and their partners to easily create, manage, and optimize advertising campaigns through programmatic and file-based interfaces. And even the most user-friendly API requires organized, well-written, and complete documentation to enable our customers to be successful.Key job responsibilitiesYou’ll work with our internal teams to create documentation, code samples, and other types of content for both Amazon Advertising’s customers and internal teams. You’ll gather feedback and develop ways to make your content more discoverable and enable our customers to be as effective and efficient as possible. You’ll help develop content strategy and set priorities. You’ll have a direct impact on customers, working closely with external integrators who build their applications using the Advertising API.Ideally, you have a strong technical background and demonstrated experience creating high-quality code samples and technical documentation. Your content will be critical for a diverse audience consisting of application developers, data scientists, and end users. Experience with RESTful APIs and big data is a bonus, and it's even better if you have experience with Linux and tools such as Git. We don't expect you to be an expert in every area, but we hope you have passion for learning about these technologies and teaching our customers how to use them.A day in the lifeIn this role, you’ll work with our internal teams to create documentation, code samples, and other types of content for both Amazon Advertising’s customers and internal teams. We are champions of Domain Driven Development and API-first around the organization, and obsess over making our APIs a delight to integrate with. Our mission is to make Amazon Ads APIs easy for customers to integrate with, and easy for internal teams to extend. We do this by promoting code reuse internally and externally to make sure no one has to reinvent the wheel when we launch new functionality.Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in writing or relevant experience.
5+ years experience writing for a developer audience— product documentation, project readme’s, or any other content that teaches technical concepts to developers.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience planning and delivering content projects.
Experience working on or closely with software development teams.
Experience working with agile project management methodologies.
Experience working with markdown and documentation-as-code systems.
Experience working with Git or a similar distributed version control system.
Working knowledge of REST, OAuth, transactional and NoSQL data stores and big data processing systems
General awesomeness in software engineering and life
Bonus points: Familiarity with the online advertising or e-commerce industry

The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,800/year in our highest geographic market.
