- Troubleshoot and debug firmware defects - ( UEFI, ACPI or microcontroller firmware, depending on role)
- Using C programming language, implement software features and fixes
- Drive software changes with partners/suppliers
- Work with test team to replicate software failures and analyze results
- Troubleshoot problems that could be low level, meaning going past just writing code. If there are issues and you believe your code is clean, identify what the problem is and provide a solution.
- Proven experience diagnosing and resolving firmware issues
- Worked on at least 1 product from beginning to end of release cycle
- 2+ years of C, C or Assembly programming experience
- Strong software debugging skills
- Strong analytical skills – for example making sure the signal is running hardware appropriately
- Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, bus analyzer tools, JTAGs, scoping lines, probes, reading schematics / IC spec
- BSEE degree
