WF1 is a stable and award-winning system, custom-built by Minnesota Information Technology (MNIT) staff. The WF1 team strives to enhance technology to make data entry as efficient as possible while managing stakeholders’ expectations within a limited budget.Thousands of city, county, state, and nonprofit service providers rely on WF1 to capture customer information accurately to allow evaluation of programs which help Minnesotans find desirable, rewarding careers. There are 20+ programs that use WF1 with the largest volumes of customers being served in the Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP), Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS), and Dislocated Worker (DW). WF1 also includes WF1 Connect, a mobile application that is used by customers of employment service programs to communicate with their staff.This position will support the WF1 case management system, WF1 Connect mobile app, and efforts to integrate systems across DEED. Due to state and federal law and policy changes, WF1 is receiving a significant increase in complex and urgent requests for changes to the system. The incumbent will assist the Product Owner and MNIT team in gathering business requirements from stakeholders, leading data collection efforts, and identifying opportunities to cost-effectively configure WF1 functionality with a focus on the customer experience. The incumbent will conduct user acceptance testing and assist with preparing communication and training materials for users.We are looking for a passionate advocate for DEED, DCYF, and DLI stakeholders and customer base who loves relationship building, consensus creation, and fun.This position is telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) eligible and is occasionally required to be on-site at the office. Staff are provided with the tools and equipment to be successful in a virtual work environment and may telework from anywhere in Minnesota or a neighboring state. Identify opportunities to configure WF1 to meet law, policy, and reporting requirements while improving the customer experience.
Build constructive relationships with workforce development program managers and staff, MNIT managers and staff, and program partners at city, county, state, and nonprofit organizations across Minnesota.
Knowledge of:
Program knowledge including the overall legislation and regulation that governs major programs within WF1.
Skill in:
Communication sufficient to engage with stakeholders at all levels and colleagues of all personality types related to process improvements.
Project management to be able to conceptualize, design, plan, implement, multitask, deliver on time, reflect upon each project, juggle competing priorities, and escalate project risks as necessary.
