Inspired people, amazing designs, and projects with purpose.Job DescriptionThe Senior Business Development Specialist will support and grow company business lines, including Energy, Federal, Technology, Transportation, Water and Industrial. This role focuses on enabling technical staff and has external client connection expectations in specific areas of knowledge.Primary Responsibilities:

Market-Based Support:

Consult firm-wide on business development initiatives, utilizing specialized knowledge to develop winning strategies.

Stay informed of changes in the business development environment and coordinate market research projects.

Interpret best practices and external trends to create effective, client-focused solutions.

Pipeline Management Assistance:

Develop and execute internal strategies that support the business development team, such as annual sales planning, client focus programs, and pipeline management.

Lead the development and implementation of firm-wide business development programs, ensuring alignment with strategic growth objectives.

Provide insights and reporting on business development metrics, identifying areas for improvement in strategy and execution.

Client Engagement:

Collaborate with technical leaders on client and project pursuit strategies and goals, driving toward firmwide business development targets.

Partner with marketing and client experience teams to integrate advanced expertise into client pursuit strategies and client intelligence efforts.

Represent the firm in client engagements, always maintaining a professional and client-centered approach.

Strong Communication Skills

Ability to contribute and work well on a team

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communication, public relations, or a related area preferred. An associate degree with equivalent experience is acceptable. A degree in a technical field such as engineering, with public administration or services experience, is also considered valuable.

Minimum eight years of experience in a business development role, preferably with expertise in both external client engagement and internal process management.

Ability to lead technical staff through experience and influence across the firm without formal authority.

Ability to coach and teach business development skills to technical professionals.

Demonstrates a specialized depth of business development expertise, leading both external and internal initiatives that align with firm objectives.

Proven track record of meeting client expectations while excelling in internal project management and strategic planning.

Strong skills in client management, writing, presentation, and internal collaboration.

Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships internally and externally.

Exhibits excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
