- Must have 10+ years’ experience in mainframe architecture using JCL, COBOL, PL/1, DB2, IDMS, Easytrieve, IMS, CICS, DASD, Tape etc.
- Proven experience in leading and architecting for medium to large scale mainframe migration projects from one mainframe system to another.
- Architect needed should be a Subject Matter Expertise in Cobol, JCL, IMS, IDMS, RACF, CA-7/CA-11, VSAM, DB2.
- Should have experience in Development projects. Domain knowledge of Automotive industry is good to have.
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years, within the last seven (7) years, experience performing COBOL programming, interface design, system maintenance, system security, technical writing, and software documentation.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years, within the last seven (7) years, experience in the design, build and implementation of enterprise ready COBOL solutions.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years, within the last seven (7) years, experience in documenting As-Is System Architecture and As-Is Application Analysis.
- Takes a leadership role in the team environment; encourages, coaches and mentors team members in acquiring the technical and behavioral skills needed to effectively produce mainframe migration and optimization solutions.
- Must have 10+ years’ experience in Main Frame Architecture using JCL, COBOL, DB2, Easytrieve, IMS, CICS,
- Experience in underlying mainframe infrastructure like LPARs, mainframe storage (DASD/tapes), security, scheduler etc.
- Strong Experience in mainframe applications with both online and batch components
- Experience in various mainframe technologies like IDMS, BMC Db2 tools, CA-7/CA-11, zIIP/zAAP, CICS Transaction Gateway
- Experience in various mainframe developer tools used for source code management, file processing, debugging, abend resolution, reporting etc.
- Work experience in Java
- Experience in file transfer methods within and outside of mainframe using connect direct/NDM/SFTP etc.
- Asses the current state of Legacy systems and identify the modernization areas.
- Create future state architecture of the Legacy systems.
- Create Roadmap for Legacy Modernization defining the priorities and dependencies.
- Performs analysis to ensure efficient use of Mainframe application resources and recommends appropriate changes as necessary
- Conducts preliminary estimates (Rough Order of Magnitude) for the level of effort to make changes to application functionality/ architecture/components/platform.
- Have good understanding of requirements and provide estimates for design, and development of required functionality
- Experience in creating CICS Txns as SOA Services in a SOA Architecture.
- Experience in converting VSAM structures to DB2 is a plus.
- Experience in CICS Transaction Gateway for z/OS is a plus.
- Experience in SOA Architecture, Web Services and Messaging infrastructure such as WebSphere MQ.
- The candidate having experience in migrating legacy applications and infrastructure to modern on-prem and cloud solutions will be added advantage.
