Customer Service Associate - Cashier
The Minit Stop Customer Service Associate is responsible for performing all job functions relating to the successful daily running of a Minit Stop Convenience store. Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to,
General customer service principles including interacting professionally with all.
Cashiering including the sole responsibility of a cash bank.
Basic food service preparation, handling, cooking and serving.
Inventory stocking and rotation.
General store maintenance and cleanliness.
To be successful in the role, an individual must be able to demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, customers and vendors. Successful candidates would also be able to offer high levels of customer service while following training and company issued policy and procedure.
All Minit Stop employees must be eligible to obtain a Maui County Liquor Card as well as having the ability to obtain a Safe Food Handling certification.
General requirements
Must be 18 years of age or older
High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred
Must be able to read, write and understand basic instructions
Previous food handling experience is preferred
Ability to operate a Point of Sale system. (Training provided)
Must be able to provide TB Clearance
Greet customers in a positive and professional manner as they enter the store and throughout their visit using Minit Stop’s Core Values and practices.
Ensuring to offer assistance to customers when needed to maximize the customer experience at all times
Educate and assist customers in signing up for company sponsored incentives and Reward Programs.
Following company protocol, effectively handle difficult or hard to serve customers should issues arise without the immediate presence of Management.
Accurately operate the Point of Sale system to ensure all inventory management and cash handling procedures are accurate.
Understand basic operations of the store for all shifts available (e.g. opening/mid/closing).
Demonstrate proficiency in executing all main job duties for any assignment within the operation including cashiering, food service and store floor procedures including but not limited to,
Inventory management and stock distribution.
Food prep, handling and cooking in a sanitary and safe manner.
Using company standards, ensure proper food storage and discard procedures are in followed.
Cleaning, maintenance and general upkeep of basic store areas.
Maintain store notation procedure to ensure maximization of communication.
Assist when required, in the onboarding of newly hired employees through work shadowing and on the job training.
Follow store task and checklists for opening and closing of shifts without the need for help from others.
Understand and follow Local, State and Federal laws and policy pertaining to the sale of Alcohol and Tobacco products.
Maintain an acceptable attendance and punctuality record including being available for shifts throughout the store operating hours.
Report all workplace hazards, injuries and incidents to store leadership in a timely fashion to ensure proper action is taken.
Comply with all Company rules and policies as set forth in the company handbook and LSOP’s.
Participate in Company ran trainings and incentives.
Compliance with all Federal, State, Local and Company safety, health and environmental regulations.
Regular attendance. Qualified absences related to the State and Federal Family Medical Leave Act must be reported to Human Resources.
Other duties and special projects as assigned.
