RING is seeking an outstanding Data Engineering Manager to join the Data and ETL team.The RING Data team's mission is to help RING be a more data driven business. The data engineering and analytics is the backbone for how we measure what we are doing, where we are going, find new opportunities to test things, or find fresh problems to solve. We help RING to identify great metrics to define high impact projects and find drivers and components that make it succeed or fail. Finally, we arm decision makers with actionable information that can be as metrics, data tools or one-off insights to decide whenever they need to.Key job responsibilities Ability to shape and build the AWS Data Platform and supporting systems for years to come Responsible for managing the team comprised of Data Engineers and BI Engineers Focus on data engineering innovation and core data platform services (Enterprise Data Lake and Data Warehouse) through self-service data products to gain business insights Spearhead enterprise wide data security, governance, and cost efficiency initiatives, empowered through the latest industry trends and best practices Experienced people manager who also possesses strong technical knowledge in data engineering, data observability, Infrastructure automation, data ops methodology, systems architecture, and development Experience managing an engineering team and have implemented large scale data engineering solutions consumed by a variety of applications and systemsA day in the lifeAmazon offers a full range of benefits that support you and eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children. Experience managing a data or BI team

6+ years of processing data with a massively parallel technology (such as Redshift, Teradata, Netezza, Spark or Hadoop based big data solution) experience

6+ years of relational database technology (such as Redshift, Oracle, MySQL or MS SQL) experience

8+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics (using ETL/ELT processes) experience

5+ years of data engineering experience

Experience managing a data or BI team

Experience communicating to senior management and customers verbally and in writing

Experience leading and influencing the data or BI strategy of your team or organization

Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR

Experience with AWS Tools and Technologies (Redshift, S3, EC2)

The base pay for this position ranges from $153,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $264,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
