Medical Collections Specialist
Description We are offering an opportunity for a Medical Collections Specialist to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. The chosen candidate will be working in the healthcare industry, specifically focusing on occupational healthcare facilities. The role involves providing guidance on medical claims, handling customer invoicing, and managing client and insurance appeals. This role offers a short term 30-60 day contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Provide guidance on appealing medical claims Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) Handle customer invoicing and management of client and insurance appeals Analyze and interpret Accounts Receivable (A/R) Collaborate effectively within a team environment Review Accounts Receivable (A/R)-related correspondence Provide guidance on identifying and resolving billing errors Maintain strict confidentiality, adhering to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations Provide guidance on correcting claims Perform other assigned duties as needed.Requirements Proficiency in Accurint, Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), and EHR SYSTEM software. Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR), Appeals, and Billing Functions. Knowledge of Claim Administration and Collection Processes. Ability to work effectively in a team and independently. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Previous experience in a medical collections role is highly desirable. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information. High standard of integrity and professionalism. Willingness to continue professional development and stay updated with industry trends and best practices. Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment and deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration or a related field is preferred.
