Dog Walker/Pet Sitter (Full Time)
Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh , 15201 Pittsburgh USA

Hey! Thanks for checking out this unique job opportunity. This position has a few full-time opportunities available.

Summary of our company:

We are a small and rapidly growing company in Pittsburgh. Downtown Pittsburgh Dogs has been serving the downtown area and surrounding neighborhoods since 2012 with dog walking, cat visits, and overnight sittings for friendly dogs and cats. We have a great time and we do awesome workbut don't take our word for itcheck us out on Google, FB, Yelp, and Instagram to see what others have to say about us.

We are growing our team and looking for dog walkers and pet sitters to fill position openings for the following positions:

-Full-time walker (5 shifts per week) focused in Strip District/Lawrenceville or Squirrel Hill/Shadyside areas. We are looking to hire 2 new walkers for these positions.

If a hard working person wants to do any combination of dog walking or overnight sitting, we do build opportunities to make sure someone succeeds. More work = more money!

As with all positions, there are good and bad things that come with the position, so let me detail a few of each so you know some general things if you plan to apply.

The bad stuff first:

-You will deal with some s. No, not the bad stuff from annoying people, but from working with animals. Yes, you need to clean up when the dogs poop (but, we have bags for that) and you will get some slobber and dog hair on you.

-You are going to have to work hard. We work with enthusiastic and happy dogs. They need a strong handler and you have to be able to lead assertively while keeping all of the dogs safe. This is not a good position if you are a not a "leader".

-The pay kind of sucks. Well, you won't get rich, but you can make a decent living if the numbers align with what you need. A standard full-time employee earns between $600-$1,000 a week depending on how your skill set is with handling dogs and how hard you hustle. A part time position earns about $400-$1,500 a month.

-You should not be afraid to parallel park and you may walk in the early evening. We do give out cool headlamps so it's fun and safe. Employee safety is important to everyone on the team.

The good news:

-If you like steady work, then this is your jam. We have constant work, and our clients continue to work with us. If you are a "YES" person, then you can work to your heart's desire.

-There is no specific dress code. You do have to wear clothes that are functional for lots of walking and can handle the elements. Practical and functional is what we do.

-You can get healthy with all of the walking you will do. If you like racking up those steps on your fitness tracker, then this job is your "cheat code" for that.

-We work independently and autonomously and get lots of work done. Our team is super productive and we celebrate hard work. If you are not allergic to work and a quick learner and sharp on your feet, then this is the place to be. We have a detailed training program that helps get folks up and running fast!

Now, if all if this sounds interesting, then you will want to pay attention. Instead of replying with a cover letter and some canned response, you will need to go to our website and find our application page. It can be found at https://www.downtownpghdogs.com/ and fill out an application after watching the short video. We do this so that we get people to apply who actually read to the bottom of this posting and actually care about details and paying attention. That means a lot to us!

Thanks for reading and hope you apply.
