Administrative Assistant
Description:This position was unique in that it is an Advisor support person, funded by a large advisor group in a Principal leased space that does not have Principal employees so there is some work and collaboration required to support Principal office operations. Previous incumbent termed, we are supporting the office with a temporary replacement, for the right candidate this could be a temp to permanent. Impact to business is reduction in office support and some services being handled remotely by Principal employee. Day to day - Processing new business, general office operations, front desk, client appointments, handling incoming and outgoing mail. Technologies or systems used - All Principal propriety applications, Salesforce, Microsoft office suite, Adobe sign, Advisor Site, PSI applications. a. If a candidate does not have all the technologies listed, would there be technologies you would consider “similar” and/or “transferable” for this position? Someone familiar with Microsoft office, CRM systems and general technologically proficient would be able to transfer skills. Salesforce What is the size and culture of the team? this team is strongly connected, they have had a recent tragedy and so are in the process of healing (why this position is available) Some FPs work in different locations at times, there is one other staff person who works remotely. This is a very successful team, team lead Ryan is the 4th highest producer in Principal. Under limited supervision, deliver a full range of administrative services to leaders or key staff members in a department. Within general guidelines make independent decisions about planning, organizing and scheduling of own work. Judgment is required to resolve problems and make recommendations for solutions and actions. Typically receive no instructions for routine work and general instructions for new assignments.Must have excellent grammar, spelling, word processing and intermediate math skills. Position requires tact, ability to maintain confidentiality and good interpersonal skills. Knowledge of financial services industry a plus. Must be familiar with Microsoft office suite .
