Tabula Rasa Health Care is looking for a Data Lake Architect to join their Data Operations team (DataOps) and help architect, build, grow and manage our enterprise Data Lake and Data Management Infrastructure. The Data Lake Architect will be responsible for creating, developing, investigating, mapping and testing the various data needs that come up on various projects. This position requires that the Data Lake Architect be an expert on data availability and quality, data validation and governance, have a strong understanding of the business requirements, and the creativity to develop workable solutions for a wide range of customers.

Primary Functions :
  • Architect, design and build a Data Lake platform, based on the Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform; Cloud Storage, BigQuery), ensuring that the platform is highly -available and secure
  • Architect and support data acquisition routines to populate the Data Lake, based on Informatica Cloud Data Integration
  • Work closely with Leadership and Data Governance to define and refine the Data Lake platform to achieve company product and business objectives
  • Collaborate with other technology teams and architects to define and develop cross-function technology stack integrations
  • Research and experiment with emerging technologies related to data acquisition, data integration and Big Data
  • Maintain and support the Data Lake platform on a day-to-day basis
  • Be proficient in SQL and ETL processes, ETL and DB performance tuning
  • Develop infrastructure and procedures to enhance visualization, reporting and query capabilities to improve efficiency and accuracy (Tableau, etc.)
  • Develop innovative approaches to manipulate data sets in a way that enables clients to see patterns and trends
  • Develop data governance standards

Qualifications:

Education, Experience & Training:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Bioinformatics or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 10+ years' hands-on experience as a technology leader designing and developing data models and data management architecture, with 3+ years specializing in Big Data / cloud architecture
  • Experience with ETL Tools; Informatica preferred
  • Understanding of healthcare data management, clinical informatics, and/or data analysis a plus (health records, claims)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Specific Skills:
  • Familiarity with Master Data Management and Data Governance concepts and applications
  • Strong, in-depth experience in data modeling and experience with business intelligence systems (dimensional modeling, data mining)
  • Broad based architecture acumen: database architecture, ETL, SOA, Cloud, etc.
  • Firm understanding of Data Warehouse methodologies
  • Demonstrated skill in critical thinking and problem-solving methods
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Working knowledge with ETL tools (Informatica, SSIS)
  • Experience with NoSQL (Couch, Mongo) and unstructured data formats a plus
  • Experience with BI tools (Tableau) a plus
