Imagine loving what you do and where you do it.Target Openings 1Job Description Summary Travelers is seeking a highly technical and experienced hands-on Engineer to join its Infrastructure and Cloud Service organization to lead problem analysis and recovery process to solve the most complex technical issues and develop customized solutions in deploying software applications to end-user workstation environments. The position plans at a tactical level and manages the effective use of technology resources for assigned projects and functions. May direct assigned project staff to design, develop and/or implement large, complex technology solutions supporting one or more business and/or technology area. Develops and implements appropriate solutions that may involve multiple platforms, databases, software/hardware technologies and tools. Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • As a highly technical and hand-on lead, lead problem analysis and recovery process to solve complex technical issues and develop customized solutions in deploying software applications to a diverse workstation environment.
  • Works collaboratively with stakeholders across Infrastructure and Cloud Services organization to proactively identify ways to improve and optimize the entire client end-user computing environment, through development and implementation of strategic plans and tactical recommendations.
  • Partner with application team members to ensure all technical aspects for deployments have been fully reviewed and considered for potential issues.
  • Designing and leading the implementation of a pro-active monitoring environment with anomaly detection.
  • Participate in project assessment, software packaging, custom scripting, pilot testing, user acceptance and communication, and remediation activities associated with large scale software deployments.
  • Write technical documentation in the form of test plans, installation plans and incident reviews.
  • Lead proactive monitoring of Microsoft TEAM's client rollout to ensure successful enterprise migration.
  • Develop and drive as well as establish new frameworks for Desktop Software packaging to position the organization to be Cloud ready.
  • Develops tactics and operational plans in alignment with strategic objectives for assigned technologies and projects.
  • Drives the execution of departmental and corporate programs.
  • Leverages infrastructure technology to develop and/or redesign technology solutions.
  • Builds, leverages, and maintains effective alliances across technical and business community.
  • Interacts with customers to achieve efficient, effective results.
  • Multi-tasks, prioritizes according to business priorities and production availability requirements.
  • Seen as a technical expert within service delivery organization (SDO) and consults across SDOs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or its equivalent in work experience, plus five years of experience in Technology required;
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree in CS or a related field and three years of work experience in Technology
Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge
  • Seven years of experience in Technology preferred.
  • Two years of experience as a technical lead preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as Network, Database, Server, Storage etc. preferred.

  • Experienced with developing strategic solutions that aligns with the business objectives and architectural direction of the organization.
  • Capable of ensuring all solutions exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment
  • Ability to create technical documents regarding implementations, break-fix solutions, etc.
  • Technical leader with extensive experience with windows registry, files and folder security, local/domain user security and operating system troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of client monitoring tools and use of analytics to drive decisions
Job Specific Technical Skills & CompetenciesSuccessful candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the activities performed related to engineering support, installation and/or operations of infrastructure technologies, including the following key experiences and capabilities:
  • Experienced with developing strategic solutions that aligns with the business objectives and architectural direction of the organization.
  • Capable of ensuring all solutions exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment
  • Ability to create technical documents regarding implementations, break-fix solutions, etc.
  • Extensive technical leadership experience with windows registry, files and folder security, local/domain user security and operating system troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of client monitoring tools and use of analytics to drive decisions
  • Strong ability to multi-task in an environment of constantly changing priorities
Strong preference will be given to candidate with
  • Solid track record with automation of tools and processes.
  • Windows troubleshooting, networking, configuration, and LDAP/AD integration experiences.
  • Critical thinking, analysis, mathematical calculations and technical evaluations skills.
  • Experience using the following scripting languages: VBScript, PowerShell, MSI, C#.
  • Experience using the following platforms & tools: Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop, SCCM, Microsoft Active Directory Group Policy.
  • Experience with helpdesk ticketing systems (Remedy & Service Now).
Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following:
  • Extensive experience in PowerShell.
  • Experience with MSIX and Flexera admin studio.
  • Good understanding of Webservices and API development.
  • Active directory configurations and architecture.
  • Software update/upgrade package development.
  • Desktop troubleshooting and repair.
  • Azure and or AWS Experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Nexthink and Nectar monitoring platforms preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of one or more of the following technical skills:
  • Foundational IT Infrastructure
  • Operating Systems
  • Software
  • Knowledge of process discipline and IDLC methodology
