We are seeking an innovative and creative engineer with both digital and RF hardware experience combined with a test background. iDirect Government is dedicated to providing next generation solutions for broadband IP networking via satellite networks. This position is located at iDirect Government Technologies office in Herndon, VA. The candidate will be responsible for developing the integration platform, components and interfaces for the next generation modular hardware platform.Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop clear and concise Integration documentation and tool kits to enable vendors
  • Be front line support for vendors working through the integration process
  • As part of our hardware development process, review hardware schematics and assembly drawings to create product manufacturing and integration test plans and requirements
  • Review RF and Digital board level hardware design from concept through to production

  • As part of our software development process, review software architecture and design to create product manufacturing and integration test plans and requirements
  • Attend and participate in system-level design meetings in order to address design issues early in the product development process

  • Actively participate in lab testing and troubleshooting as needed
  • Participate in the new product introduction process and subsequent transition to production and vendor integrations
  • Provide training and support as required to manufacturing, integration and test staff

  • Other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:Related Experience:
  • 4+ years experience in hybrid RF/Digital Hardware Design

  • Awareness of regulatory standards
    Awareness of signal integrity and EMI/EMC issues and practical knowledge of reducing emissions and septibility
    Practical experience in the use of test equipment (DSO, Logic Analyzer, FRA, etc.)
  • Experience in the use of instrumentation within an automated test environment to test RF electronic assemblies and products. Instrumentation currently being used includes Spectrum Analyzers, DC Loads, RFSG, RFSA and Data Acquisition hardware
  • Scripting (Python, Perl, Tcl/Tk, Ruby) for the purpose of test tool automation

  • Knowledge of Linux, Python, Lua, Bash, and C/C
