Youth Martial Arts Instructor
Are you passionate about martial arts, love working with kids and want to make great money doing both? Musical Minds Academy is excited to offer an opportunity to join our roster of martial arts instructors in the San Luis Obispo area, best for those looking to inspire young minds through movement!
Responsibilities:
- Instructing introductory martial arts classes at local middle schools within the San Luis Obispo area.
- Tailoring class plans based on the requirements of schools and student groups (7th-8th grade).
- Introducing engaging and imaginative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience.
- Coordinating end-of-session performance showcase for student performances.
Experience:
- Previous experience teaching kids of different ages and abilities in a group or private setting (2 years required)
- Proficiency in martial arts, karate, taekwondo or other relevant martial art forms
- Some familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special needs or learning differences
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Uninterrupted and on-time availability for teaching hours
To join our team, we require:
- Reliable transportation.
- At least two (2) years of prior teaching experience.
- Availability for daytime-afternoon classes on weekdays.
- Participation in training sessions and staff meetings.
- Consistent communication through email, text, and phone.
- Successful completion of a Livescan DOJ/FBI background check and TB test.
Compensation: Starting at $100/day for teaching hours. Training sessions and other non-instructional responsibilities will be paid at $25/hour.
Schedule: (3) hours/week of availability required.
Note: Experience in special education, childhood development, preschool, early childhood education, behavior management, tutoring, or classroom management is a plus, but not required.
