Community Center Coordinator, Community ServicesAnnual Salary Range: $38,987.83 - $46,772.39 Grade: 23 (Employee: 7% on your current salary, whichever is greater; or 10.5% on your current salary, whichever is greater, if position is 3 grades or higher than current position) Appointment to a position in the classified service shall be at the minimum of the corresponding pay range unless otherwise approved.Examination is announced to establish an employment list to fill a vacancy in the Community Services Department and future vacancies as they occur. Plans, promotes, implements, and conducts educational, recreational, athletic, arts, crafts, and other regular or special programs; evaluates activities and events for overall value and effectiveness; establishes and distributes schedules for activities; enters and maintains activities and programs in computer database; administers policies with respect to scheduling, safety, and insurance; processes participant registrations. Coordinates facility use; maintains master calendar; schedules facility rentals; prepares for scheduled events; sets up meeting rooms; decorates for special events; maintains related documentation. Creates promotional materials to increase public awareness of and participation in programming and events; prepares news releases, flyers, brochures, etc.; makes presentations to various groups as requested. Ensures departmental compliance with all applicable codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures; Operates a motor vehicle, personal computer, general office equipment, or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, including the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, or other system software.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university; supplemented by two (2) years of experience in developing educational and recreational programs and special events; any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.Must possess a valid drivers license.Will be required to obtain a valid State of Louisiana drivers license at time of appointment and maintain throughout employment for this classification.Must obtain CPR and First Aid certifications within probationary period and maintain throughout employment.Work Schedule:M - F, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PMSome nights and weekends for eventKind of ExaminationThis examination may consist of a written test, a rating of training and experience, a performance test or any combination thereof deemed necessary to adequately screen and rank applicants. Examination notices will be sent out via email with a testing date, time, and location. Applicants must supply complete and accurate information concerning their previous training and experience including a detailed description of their work experience, the names and addresses of all previous employers and the dates of employment.
