Job Title: Assistant Branch Manager - PERMANENT POSITION
Classification: Salaried plus commission

Principle Purpose of Job:
The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for assisting the branch manager with the overall operations in their specific branch.
Examples of Duties:
Assist branch manager in operations of the branch offices including:
Accounts Receivable - maintain proper procedures for collecting cash, checks and credit cards. Make and post all deposits, review a detailed aging report daily and make contact with all past due accounts. Work closely with their Branch Manager and Branch Operations Manager to establish and maintain credit terms. Keep accounts receivable above 80% current.
Reconcile the petty cash drawer once a month with the Branch Manager
Inventory management - maintain proper levels of inventory, suggesting material needed for weekly truck(s), and participating in the truck order process, both ordering and receiving in trucks.
Conduct monthly inventory and control shrink, maintain proper procedures for order pulling and checking in truck orders. Oversee proper stock preparation; receive all stock into the AccPac computer system.
Process branch transfers as material is moved between branches.
Order and maintain sufficient supply of office/warehouse supplies.
Pull orders and unload product trucks.
Assist the branch manager in editing orders, invoicing orders, mailing invoices, running specific weekly reports such as the accounts receivables statement and four month trend.
Inside counter sales - type in orders from customers that fax, phone or place their orders in person.
Work with the customer representative for customers or product issues. Work with new customers to establish a good business relationship.
Maintain a high level of customer service at all times.
Human Resources - Assist in managing the warehouse manager, and warehouse/driver from 1-6 people. Assure proper procedures for disciplinary actions for branch personnel. Maintains proper new hire paperwork. Participates in the hiring process and termination of branch employee's as needed.
Scheduling - Assist in managing branch employee's payroll, vacation, and sick days to ensure the branch is adequately staffed at all times.
Additional duties as required.
Contacts:
The Assistant Branch Manager works closely with the Branch Manager and branch personnel to ensure branch operations run smoothly.
Supervision:
Assists the Branch Manager in supervising the warehouse/delivery personnel within their branch, usually 1-7 people.
Accountability:
Accountable for day-to-day branch operations within their branch to ensure the branch is running as effectively as possible.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to a warehouse setting. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds. Hearing and sight sufficient to work around forklifts and other typical warehouse equipment used to move large items and physical agility sufficient to remove the employee from the danger of falling items is necessary.
QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of warehouse operations and management including set up and maintenance of same.
Basic skills required to effectively manage personnel.
Knowledge of basic computer skills including AccPac
Ability to manage multiple functions at one time.
Ability to accurately perform in depth mathematical calculations and prepare reports.
Ability to hold strict confidence.
Ability to maintain attention to detailed information.
Ability to effectively communicate and understand detailed and/or technical information.
Experience/Education:
Prefer two years' experience in warehouse setting, although not required. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Spanish-speaking preferred, but not required. Must possess a valid drivers license. Must pass background check

Skills and Requirements
Ability to operate a delivery pickup truck and backup with a 20' trailer attached
Ability to effectively communicate with customers by phone and in person
Basic understanding of warehouse operations, and safety rules
Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and climb
Must be able to lift 50 pounds individually and team lift 100 pounds throughout a workday
Willingness to operate a forklift and pallet jack after training
Ability to manage multiple functions at one time
Valid Driver's License and good driving record
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Handle petty cash as needed
