THE POSITIONThe Pennsylvania State Police are currently searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 for Troop T, Jefferson Hills Barracks. DESCRIPTION OF WORKThe Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will provide clerical support to the Station Commander and other station personnel by ensuring the Station’s clerical and administrative operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. Prepares and types various correspondence and reports. Transcribes taped interviews, taped communications conversations, and other audio recordings as requested by Station personnel. Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.

Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

This position isnot eligible for telework.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or

Graduation from high school;or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

3 years or more of experience using Microsoft Word.

3 years or more of experience using Microsoft Excel.

3 years or more of experience prooing and editing various types of materials to ensure grammatical correctness and completeness.

2 years or more of experience processing incoming and outgoing mail.

2 years or more of experience answering and assisting with incoming telephone calls.

2 years or more of experience utilizing various office equipment such as a personal computer, copying machine, facsimile machine, and postage meter.

3 years or more of experience with preparing and formatting various correspondence, forms, and reports.

3 years or more of experience maintaining databases, spreadsheets, and logs.

2 years or more of experience working in a position that required processing invoices, payments, and managing financial accounts.

1 year or more of experience working in a position that requires maintaining a filing system.

You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
