AM & PM Caregiver for M quad Irvine $30/hour
I am looking for people for various morning shifts and maybe an evening shift. The time is about 7 to 8:30/9 in the morning and 10:30 or 11 til about 12. Do not respond unless you can definitely do those shifts. I don’t need people during the day.
My current caregiver is having a problem getting to me in the morning, so I know her shifts are available, which are Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening.
So here’s the deal. This job is not for everybody. But somebody will appreciate it. If you’ve seen this ad up before, lots of people responding, but nobody seems to read it so, please read this and make sure that you understand it. I have caregivers, but there are gaps in the schedule. Therefore, we will talk first, see that you are appropriate for the job, and then take the schedule from there. The particular morning will be determined at hiring time. Basically, I need people with late evening and early morning availability. I have two people to split the mornings, but I need to hire another to take a couple shifts and potentially fill in as needed. I've had problems with people getting hurt, getting sick, or whatever else and being left stranded. Ideally, if you have another job, you would have the flexibility to work if needed. Then, if somebody needs to work less or move on, this person would have regular shifts available to take. Once somebody is hired, and then trained, then we talk about what schedule works. It would be worked out with my other caregivers. Please read the requirements and see that you can fulfill them and then let me know and we can talk. I need people that are really reliable. I need people that are flexible. I need people with a stable living situation. I need people that have a working telephone. I need people that have a reliable, working transportation method. Plus, take a look at the map. You need to live no more than 10 miles away. Traffic is a problem in the mornings.
The morning shift takes about an hour and fifteen minutes to about an hour and 45, depending on how efficient the caregiver is (from about 7-8:15/45). There is the occasion a caregiver might be asked to work an evening, The evening shift takes about an hour (from about 11 PM-12 AM). Regardless of how long it takes, the caregiver will get $60 for the shift. Again, this is a part-time job.
If you’re legal to work in the US (you will register with IHSS and have taxes taken out…no under the table. Please understand that, no pay under the table, which means that it will be reported), live within 10 miles of Irvine, have good transportation, strong enough to transfer a male quadriplegic (i’m about 140 to 145 pounds with safe techniques) without a lift, and have availability to be a backup if hired. No resumes please…. I want to hire a person, not a résumé, so send me a reply and let me know why you’d be a good candidate. Only responses with this will be considered.
If you are unfamiliar with what a quadriplegic is and what kind of care is involved, please look it up. Bowel and bladder care are involved so if you are uncomfortable with that, then please don’t respond.
These are short shifts and perfect if you have another job.
Please have a reliable contact method and respond when contacted.
If you're IHSS certified already, that's a plus.
If you are interested in becoming a superstar caregiver, please respond to this ad with a DETAILED EMAIL explaining why you would be a good fit for the position. I look forward to hearing from you!
JOB SEARCH tip: Don't JUST send a resume or a one or two word inquiry. If you want to be considered, tell me about yourself and why you're interested
