Residential general contractor company looking for a construction assistant. Part time position 630-1030a Monday through Friday. We are flexible with end time if there is more work to be done or less work to be done, but we will require a 630a start at least 4 days a week. Willing to work with a second job schedule, child schedule, or pre-retirement schedule.

This job is ideal for a person with a good knowledge basis who is looking to increase their job knowledge in the field. This would also be great for someone near the end of their career who has a good knowledge of the industry but is looking for a lighter construction load. This is also great for someone who is strong, organized, and learns quickly but does not have specific construction materials knowledge.

Job Description - Material delivery/inventory. Company Vehicle provided. Assistant will meet with team in the morning to understand what is needed for the day/week. Assistant will be responsible for the pick up and delivery of material for jobs. Knowledge of construction material a plus, but organization and good communication is key here. Assistant must also keep a record of material to help job cost and therefore be organized with good written and communication skills. Though very heavy lifting isn't necessary, must be able to lift sheetrock and 16ft lumber. We use multiple suppliers and run multiple job sites. Driver must be willing and able to drive. Ideal candidate will know what is needed on job sites and help keep material acquisition efficient ( no multiple trips, over/under purchase, material check for good quality). Compensation based on efficiency. We are a team and will grow together.

Job description - While materials are first priority, there could be additional manual labor on the job site. This is optional and if material acquisition fills part time hours, that is something we can work with. Examples of manual labor could be: misc small works, shoe molding and knob install, insulating small areas, small sheetrock patches, knowledge of small scale vent work a plus. Own personal hand tools a plus. Candidate must be willing to climb 12 ft ladders.

Candidates must also be timely (crew starts at 7a promptly!). We would like the assistant to report a half hour earlier at 630a to meet to organize the day before the crew arrives - boosting efficiency.
