Concern Housing is seeking an Employment Coordinator to assist clients in obtaining and maintaining employment consistent with their identified vocational goals and recovery. The Employment Coordinator engages clients and establishes trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goal of competitive employment in integrated job settings. The Employment Coordinator also acts as a resource for ongoing benefits advisement as related to any impact employment may have on entitlements.
Position: Employment Coordinator
Location: Ronkonkoma, NY
Schedule: Monday-Friday; 9am-5pm
Salary: $49,000/yr.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assess clients’ vocational functioning utilizing background information and work experiences.
Develop an individualized employment plan with clients, noting self-identified goals and interests.
Assist clients in job development and job search activities directed toward positions that are consistent with their employment plan.
Provide benefits advisement to allow clients to make informed choices regarding the range of benefits they receive, or those for which they may be eligible, and the impact of employment on entitlements.
Assist with resume building, interviewing skills, orientation to transportation, coping skills, and stress management as related to securing and maintaining employment.
Provide individualized, supportive services to assist clients in sustaining employment, including on-site job guidance/coaching.
Provide education and support to employers, as agreed upon by the client, which may include negotiating job accommodations and follow-up contacts with the employer.
Utilize outreach services to foster partnerships with other community organizations as related to supported employment opportunities.
Complete documentation requirements in Precision Care within 48 hours of client contact, according to agency policy.
Submit all reports and billable services to ACCES-VR timely.
Remain current with all Agency required compliance documents and trainings.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred in mental health or social services. At least 2 years of related experience in vocational services, including ACCES-VR.
