Woodshop Assistant / Junior Instructor (Experience Required)

Philadelphia Woodworks, the area's only pro-grade open-access woodshop, is seeking a highly dependable and personable Woodshop Assistants and Junior Instructors. PW is a one-of-a-kind business that allows hobbyists and woodworkers to have affordable access to professional-grade machinery, expert instruction and woodshop classes. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Routine maintenance and upkeep of woodshop, equipment and physical plant
- Millwork of class materials and custom projects
- Assisting with classes and events
- Basic administrative and sales duties
Desired Candidate:
- Experience and/or educational background in fine woodworking is required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; outgoing personality; positive attitude
- Someone who works hard and takes pride in their work
- Mechanical inclination
- Must have a dependable car; public transportation is not reliable to our location
Position Details:
Full-time position as follows:
Tue: 10a-6p
Wed: 2p-10p
Thu: 2p-10p
Fri: 10a-6p
Sun: 9a-6p
- Employees enjoy free access to the shop during off-hours for personal projects
- Starting wage of $18 - $22 / hr depending on skills, experience and abilities.
- Two weeks paid vacation for full-time positions (40+ hours per week) only.
- 24 hours paid sick time off for full-time positions only.
