Maintenence Worker-Full Time

JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Maintenance Worker

SUMMARY: This is an experienced level maintenance position. Incumbents are expected to perform the more complex maintenance tasks. This position works under limited supervision, and is an hourly, full-time, benefited position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Mow and edge lawns as required

2. Prune, shear and shape hedges, plants and shrubs as needed

3. Perform minor electrical maintenance and repair

4. Assist with the repair and maintenance of pumps, filters and related maintenance equipment

5. Performs minor plumbing repairs including irrigation systems, replace and maintain sprinkler heads and valves on a constant basis

6. Move furniture and perform other heavy duty work as directed

7. Cleans and paints as directed

8. Assists with carpentry work, and fence repair as needed

9. Digs trenches as required to install or repair pipes or electrical conduit

10. Drive park vehicles for routine jobs requiring moving of maintenance equipment and furniture as required

11. Respond to resident requests in a timely and professional manner

12. Assists Park Maintenance Supervisor in more complex tasks as directed

REQUIREMENTS:

Able to read and understand verbal instructions and speak work related, conversational English. Must have excellent practical maintenance skills and be able to lift 40 pounds Must have a current California Drivers License.
