Senior Transit Architect

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Transit Architect with subject matter expertise in transit related design, management and contract/construction administration – specifically LRT and heavy rail.  The ideal candidate must have a proven track record leading complex transit facility and infrastructure projects from start to finish. This role offers the chance to shape the design of large-scale transit facilities and transit-oriented developments, with opportunities for local, national, and international work. 10+ years of experience required managing multi-disciplinary teams, serving as the client liaison, and solving complex challenges with creative, elegant solutions; 5+ years of recent and relevant LRT and rail building experience.  If this is of interest to you, please submit a design portfolio showing an array of projects with a focus on rail and large transit-oriented development for consideration.Most of the Things You’ll Work On: USA Transit Architecture Division with focus on rail design, management and contract/construction administration projects.  Diverse LRT and rail experience (freight and commuter rail preferred).Lead and manage large, complex projects and project teams.Shape the design principles that drive projects from conception through execution.Collaborate with practice leaders and colleagues as part of the senior design and leadership team to foster a culture of design excellence within Arcadis’ Transit Architecture Studio.Assist with Transit related Business Development (BD).Develop one-year, two-year, three-year business plans collaboratively with the Transit practice leads.Strengthen a transit-focused design practice in the Northeast USA (NY or MA preferred) that can support other regions from the outset.Mentor and develop emerging transit professionalsHybrid work opportunity.  Proximity to Arcadis local office preferred with ideal candidate being in-office 3-4 days per week.
