Description JOB DESCRIPTION:This position will be part of a team responsible for the design, implementation, and management of Linux operating systems, systems software and services, including deployment and management of solutions across AWS and Azure cloud infrastructures.The individual will work with other Linux administrators and serve as a subject matter expert for diverse projects spanning multiple teams to support ISMC's product development teams and customer service delivery. This position requires a well seasoned individual with hands-on experience designing and maintaining complex IT infrastructure and complete product solutions who can work with solutions architects, networking and security teams, and other project stakeholders. The IT managed service (ITMS) team provides excellent opportunities for career growth, training and educational opportunities, and experience in an expanding ITMS operation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, deploy, and maintain Linux-based servers in development, testing, and production environments.Provide mentoring to other team members as part of a continual improvement environment.Provide cross-team deployment and administrative support for managed applications including integration with external products and services. Work as a core-member of Linux and Windows systems administration teams, networking, and security in supporting the projects deployed at multiple on-premises facilities and in cloud environments.Work from initial concepts to final solution designs including proposal drafting, full technical design, risk analysis, cost analysis and business benefits.Design and implementation of system and application automation tools and workflows in support of a diverse set of internal and external customers. Participation in all security processes, including security patching and auditing, security remediation, and disaster recovery operations.Identify, experiment with, and adapt technologies that can better serve the customer and ITMS' goals.Participation in day-to-day process and service optimization, issue discovery and remediation, along with membership in a rotating on-call schedule.Project analysis, requirements gathering, analysis of alternatives, testing, and deployment.Author, collaborate on, and maintain project, systems, services, and process documentation.Qualifications EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:BA/BS degree in a computer-oriented discipline or equivalent experience and relevant certifications. REQUIRED SKILLS: Proven work experience (10+ years) as a Linux systems administrator, Red Hat-based distributions preferred, and a minimum of 4 years experience in a team environment. Firm knowledge in development of configuration management in tools such as Ansible and Puppet. Knowledge of cloud and container technologies such as AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes.Practical experience in Bash and one additional scripting language such as Python.
