Production Supervisor - Shipping & Receiving

Well established Metal Fabrication company is searching for a Production Supervisor in the Shipping and Receiving area.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are no limited to:

Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.

Determines routing and legal load limits according to established schedules and weight limits of states.

Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, and seals loaded boxcars and truck doors.

Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.

Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving to storage and work areas.

May assists workers in shipping and receiving activities.

Ensure product is in compliance with customer standards and ensure fulfillment goals.

Maintain departmental day-to-day production activities, monitor and prioritize workflow and maintain schedules.

Assist in hiring, training and reviewing performance of staff.

Ensure that Production is cost effective.

Work out the human and material resources needed.

Work with different department supervisors to achieve product goals and schedules.

Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed.

Supervise and motivate a team of workers.

Identify training needs.

Strive to constantly improve and stream line designated work center areas for further cost savings

Make sure workers are on task and producing efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required - experience is most important.

2 years Supervisory/Management experience.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Basic computer skills, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with a manufacturing based operating system.

Skills that are a plus; Lean Manufacturing, Process Improvement, Operations Management, Quality Control, Job Scheduling

Able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen (hair follicle)
