Job Description:

The Network Engineer will serve as an integral team member of the Global Service Center engineering team, working with stakeholders and leadership to implement delivery as well as management of networking for customer environments. This includes discovery, design, implementation, documentation and on-going management.

He/She will assist in managing complex network engineering delivery for customer facing implementations providing network capability development, systems gap analysis, as well as integration, scope, time, cost, and risk management.

Location for this position is preferred in the Front Range or Cheyenne area, but remote is possible.

General Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Must exhibit Excellent customer facing communication and passion for customer success
  • Ability to help build next generation operational process to support managed service offering
  • Deploy manage, test, upgrade networks, including firewalls, switches, routers etc.
  • Functional demonstrative knowledge of networking principles, including dynamic routing protocols, VLANs, DNS, etc.
  • Functional demonstrative knowledge around security as it relates to customers networks, including design and on-going management
  • Consult with clients on problem areas, be that configuration, performance, security, etc.
  • Continuously assist with training and educate engineering staff to improve our ability to rapidly respond to client needs
  • Consult internal teams on evolving client requirements based on changes in the telemetry of their environment
  • Consult with the product team on enhancements to products and services based on intimate familiarity with client environments.
  • Communicates effectively with internal teams with regards to events and changes transpiring at client sites.
  • Participate in rotating "on-call" schedule with other members of the team.
  • Direct responsibility for the success of implementation delivery, in partnership with the delivery manager
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to customers on technical subjects; demos, end-user and administrative training – onboarding customer to our support and/or managed services
  • Assist in improving and road-mapping our managed services as it relates to networking
  • Have a consulting mindset (customer-centric prospective)
  • Assist in the development of standard planning documentation and templates
  • Responsible for successful customer and internal on-boarding of new customer, services and/or products to our support and managed service team managers
  • Responsibility for communication and updates to delivery manager and/or customer
  • Ability to facilitate feedback to managers and product owners
  • Ability to innovate
  • Participate in SOW and Peer Reviews pre-sales – “Do we have what is needed for success”

Qualifications:

  • Security+ or equivalent
  • PCNSE/PCSAE, or CCSE/CCSA
  • Implement, maintain, support, and upgrade firewall appliances using latest automation techniques.
  • Performs technical analysis and administration tasks on Check Point and Palo Alto Firewall appliances
  • Demonstrated experience with next-gen features such as Proxy, IPS, URL filtering, DLP, Antivirus policies, Panorama, and SmartControl.
  • Demonstrated experience with complex networking environments both on-premise and in the Cloud
  • Develop, support, and implement firewall security policies.
  • Site-to-Site VPN & Client to Site VPN troubleshooting
  • Ensure firewall services and systems are always available and reliable.
  • Able to coordinate and work with on-site engineers during outage or critical situations.

Preferred:

  • Multiple vendor firewall knowledge a plus (Cisco/Juniper/Fortinet/Sophos)
  • 3+ years of experience as a firewall engineering
  • 3+ years of experience with Checkpoint Firewalls
  • Expert level understanding of PAN
  • Expert level understanding of Check Point GAIA and Secure Platform
  • Expert level of troubleshooting and debugging procedures
  • High level knowledge of Check Point Security blades.
  • Control and URL Filtering, Anti Bot, DLP, Sandblast threat prevention and Endpoint Security
  • High level understanding of Network Security architecture
  • High level understanding of TCP/IP and networking
  • Solid understanding of virtual router redundancy protocol (vrrp) and IP clustering for high availability and Cluster Control Protocol (CCP)
  • Experience with Check Point VSX and other firewall virtualization and multi-context architecture
  • Azure – Firewall, Web App Firewall, NSG, ExpressRoute, VPN, vWAN and FrontDoor
