Job Summary

Line Cooks are responsible for the daily preparation of high quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary and consistent manner. Line Cooks work a station in the kitchen as scheduled by the Restaurant Manager and executes all related duties of that station.

Essential Job Functions

Prepares and fabricates items for use in the kitchen according to established recipes and procedures.

Stores product as received and rotates stock according to established procedures.

Maintains coolers and storage areas and ensures cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all areas.

Keeps workstation clean, sanitary and orderly in accordance with health department regulations.

Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.

Follows recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as established by the Restaurant Manager.

Restocks all items as needed throughout the shift.

Prepares dishes for customers with food allergies and intolerances.

Works at an efficient and consistent pace.

Complies with all Sedona Burgers and Dogs’ safety policies and procedures demonstrating safe work practices. Identifies and reports unsafe or hazardous work conditions. Reports all workplace injuries and illnesses to the supervisor.

Promotes the Sedona Burgers and Dogs mission and values and demonstrates the importance of providing quality service to customers and co-workers.

Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Secondary Functions

Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Maintains cleanliness in the dishroom.

Assists in the kitchen with expediting and plating as needed.

Essential Tools, Equipment, Vehicles, and/or Machinery

Essential job function requires the use of all kitchen equipment including knives, slicers, chopper, mixer, deep fryer, steam kettles, ovens and grills.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Essential job functions require the individual to be available for variable shifts including weekends and holidays. The essential job functions also require considerable walking, standing and the physical stamina required for lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying objects up to 35lbs. unaided. The ability to work in conditions associated with a professional kitchen including heat, humidity and periods of high volume production is required.

Qualifications

One year of line cook experience in a similar environment.

Possession of valid food-handler’s permit.

Understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.

Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.

Ability to work multiple stations on the line successfully.

Ability to take direction and work in a team environment.

Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.

Ability to communicate effectively in verbal form.

Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers.

Ability to perform the essential job functions.
