IT Project Manager The IT Project Manager within the Project Management Office (PMO) provides a key role in ensuring that IT projects (business, application and infrastructure ) follow a process which will ensure that the final product delivered meets the business objectives. The IT Project Manager is responsible for the scoping, planning, executing, and monitoring to deliver projects on schedule and to budget. The incumbent is responsible for analyzing, creating and implementing improved processes relating to portfolio and project management as well as providing project management expertise to IT Department. Client has a mix of in-house built custom web application systems, plus on premise and SaaS software. Most of the application development is done offshore. A functional PM will be ideal for this role to focus on following processes and artifacts already in place and for preparing project charters, budgets etc. Client follows Waterfall/iterative/Hybrid Methodology with 3 month iterations.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Up to 15 years of total IT experience with 5-8 years of project management experience handling multiple projects
  • Bachelors’ Degree
  • PMP desired (someone who knows all processes). Worked in a PMO and knows how to create all relevant artifacts
  • Experience managing in-house - custom web application development and IT Infrastructure based projects.
  • Experience with

    Waterfall, Iterative, Change adaptive; rapid/continuous delivery; SDLC
  • Experience creating, maintaining and monitoring project charters, project plans, project forecasts, project schedules, work hours, project budgets and expenditure;
  • Experience involving in all stages of a project. Includes engaging project teams and vendors in project initiation, planning activities (managing contracts, resource onboarding), managing project schedules, dependencies, risks and issues, and project closure activities
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including MS Project, MS project Server, Word, and Excel ( Use tools to monitor working hours, plans and expenditures )
  • Ability to contribute consistently and positively in a dynamic, high-paced, and sometimes unpredictable work environment.
  • Ability to assess a situation, manage risks and provide impact analysis and options to address the situation.
  • Ability to establish reporting cadence, reports, and metrics to help the business understand and track progress on customer experience issues. Experience using metrics / KPIs to show the health of the overall program/ project
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Independent, motivated and creative thinker.
  • Strong, clear and concise communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Familiarity and experience utilizing project methodology, processes and deliverables.
  • Demonstrated experience using a project management tool, preferably Project Server
  • Ability to understand business processes and adapt their project management approach accordingly.
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of business communication.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to complete project forecasts.
  • Ability to assess a situation, manage risks and provide impact analysis and options to address the situation.
  • Person should have handled business functional and infrastructure related projects, a quicker learner
