Lead Site Reliability Engineer

Through innovative technology development and deployment, this team ensures Hilton has the technology needed to support our continued global growth while remaining at the forefront of hospitality technology innovation.What will I be doing?Hilton is looking for a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to work alongside our product and development teams to continue to scale our application and infrastructure while ensuring performance and high availability. As the ideal candidate you will communicate clearly, enjoys learning, deploying and scaling new technologies, and acting as a proponent of automation/infrastructure as code.As a Lead Site Reliability Engineer you are expected to create a link between development and operations by applying a software engineering mindset to system administration topics. You split your time between operations/on-call duties and developing systems and software that help increase site reliability and performance.More specifically, you will:Build and maintain application roadmaps

Solve complex performance and scaling issues, working with Engineering to ensure that we avoid bottlenecks and scale to meet traffic demands through organic growth and marketing events

Help evolve our production infrastructure, strategically employing automation, and infrastructure-as-code

Develop and maintain software platforms and frameworks to support and empower Product Development teams

Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning and launch reviews

Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health

Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:Seven (7) years of professional experience in technology or a related field

Five (5) years of software/platform design and implementation experience

Four (4) years IT project management experience

Experience with Gitlabs, Jenkins, Docker, Splunk, and DynaTrace

Business travel of approximately 10%

It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree with Six (6 ) years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED with twelve (12 ) years of Technology related experience

Nine (9 ) years of professional experience in technology or a related field

Five (5 ) years of software/platform design and implementation experience, with four (4) years of experience with cloud applications/technologies

Five (5 ) years of IT project management experience

Experience with EKS, Rigor, and/or Bamboo
