Controller

Job Description

The Controller is responsible for the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The position reports directly to the CFO.

The perfect candidate will demonstrate skills in the following areas:

1. All accounting operational functions including GL, AR, AP, cost accounting, grower accounting, inventory and fixed asset accounting
2. Maintaining and documenting accounting policies and procedures
3. Monthly and annual internal and external financial statements
4. Internal financial controls
5. Capital expenditure management and accounting
6. Tax filing and reporting
7. Budget preparation
8. Cash management
9. Staff management

Finally, we require candidates to have the following levels of education and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 10 years of hands-on accounting managerialexperience.
• Excellent computer skills and experience with accounting software
• Experience in problem-solving, especially within a business growth

Qualifications

We strongly prefer candidates to have the following:

• CPA certification or MBA
• Tree fruit accounting experience
• ERP system conversion experience

Additional Information

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position.
