Get to know us and see what it's like to be part of the world's leading major home appliance company.Technician - Electronic Codes and StandardsFunctional Overview:Currently, we are seeking a full-time Codes and Standards Technician to support the electronic controls verification and Validation team at our Benton Harbor, MI headquarters. The position is best suited for someone with a strong electronics lab testing background and who has at least 2 years of experience in a relevant industry segment.As the Codes and Standards Technician, you will be responsible for the planning and executing testing for certification of products and prototypes. You will need to interpret the relevant UL (Underwriters Laboratory) and IEC (International Electrical Commission) standards and define, plan and run tests to the standard requirements. You have good electronics hardware knowledge and understand the basics of embedded software.Job Responsibilities:Perform regulatory testing on electronic appliance controls such as HMIs, Control units.

Modifying or preparing control/appliance samples for appropriate tests as per standard requirement.

Setting up the appliances for testing in the Environmental chamber, EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) / EMC (Electromagnetic compatibility), Regulatory lab.

Documentation of any observations.

Operating oscilloscopes, analyzers, receivers, and meters to take measurements on circuits

Participate in root cause analysis on failures incurred during lab tests

Submit test reports and participate in test plan reviews. Develop test set-ups and fixtures to be able to run specific tests.

Work in a team environment and manage testing deliverables to meet project deadlines for respective control.

Keep track of and maintain supply of laboratory instruments, samples and consumables.

Ensure proper function and calibration of equipment used during testing

Work on tests based on standards UL-6730, IEC-60335-1, and relevant IEC standards.

Participates in Lab certification based on ISO-17025-1

Minimum Requirements :Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science

2+ Years of experience with embedded electronics development or testing

Experience with requirements of UL/IEC 60730-1

Experience with creating and setting up new test fixtures

Preferred Requirements:Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms.

Strong communication skills and ability to push through the ideas.

Is a team player, able to work in a cross-functional collaborative environment to meet mutual goals of codes and compliance.

Knowledge of Electronics Hardware, software and systems is a must.

Proficient in computer skills.

Experience with creating and setting up new test fixtures

Understands and has worked in a ISO 17025 compliant Lab environment
