Job Description:This is a full-time position for SCCM Engineer on the Network Services team for a federal government customer located at the customer site. The SCCM Engineer position will involve working in an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) environment with a team of Windows Systems Administrators. The position will perform maintenance weekend preparation including patching, reviews, scheduling, and communications. This position will perform Microsoft Windows Server administration, daily health checks, troubleshoot backups issues, capacity planning and testing; install and implement security patches, and build new virtual servers. Keep abreast of technical developments of importance and participate in developing or setting standards. Manage change control for designated systems. Continuous understanding of the business processes the system(s) support. The SCCM Engineer will also be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Configure and manage SCCM Current Branch server and services for Microsoft Server patching
  • Creating new application software packages using SCCM which includes sequencing software packages for Windows and Linux servers
  • Installing new software to servers via SCCM
  • Utilizing Wise Package Studio and SCCM to Develop, UAT validation deployment and Production deployment of upgrade /frequent security update /hotfixes to applications
  • Installing new OS Patches via SCCM
  • Ensure all work is supported by appropriate documentation (incident, problem, service request or project tickets)
  • Utilizing SCCM for Microsoft security patches, hotfixes and vulnerability remediation's
Other Responsibilities include:
  • Add new features and components such as SCSM and Orchestrator to Microsoft Systems Center.
  • Manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and add new distribution points for SCCM.
  • Provide vulnerability support for the SCCM infrastructure.
  • Using environmental scan reports, pro-actively identify the severity of the vulnerability as well as the items affected in accordance with the Vulnerability Management Policy.
  • Document and complete the assessment, actionable items, remediation, and reconciliation items for each identified vulnerability in a project ticket within required time frames.
  • Review Microsoft Security TechCenter, National Vulnerability Database (NVD), Common Vulnerabilities Exposures (CVE) and other applicable sources to provide Vulnerability Assessment.
  • Open related tasks or deployments and oversee the change requests, including owning the presentation for the internal Change Control Board.
  • Communicate with systems owners regarding actions needed to remediate vulnerability.
  • Able to work maintenances on weekends (twice a month)
  • Some on-call responsibility for emergency situations
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • Build, install, tune, maintain, support, update, patch, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Servers 2012 and 2016
  • Experienced in troubleshooting and maintaining SCCM Current Branch
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory
  • Good understanding of security issues surrounding server OS and applications particularly FTP/SFTP
  • Maintaining desktop/laptop Windows 7 and Windows 10 images and deployment using SCCM
  • Working knowledge of Group Policy Management
  • Knowledge of Tenable Nessus vulnerability scanner
  • Experience with Powershell scripting
  • Understanding of registry keys
  • Senior level knowledge of System Configuration Center Management 2016 Current Branch.
  • Utilizing SCCM for Microsoft security patches, hotfixes
DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • Microsoft SQL Server and Exchange, Linux, SSL, VMWare ESX, SSH
  • Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) 2008 / 2010
  • Creating software packages in SCCM
  • Windows 10 OS image maintenance
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Certifications (any one of the following): MCTS, MCSE, MCSA, or SCCM
