Description: Seeking performance engineering minded Solution Architect contractor dedicated to leading efforts to improve consistency of response time performance of a modern Cloud based internal system. The person in this role assess production monitoring data in relation to overall system architecture to identify patterns in sporadic subpar response times and probable root causes. Develop detailed understanding of system architecture, including dependencies and associated performance characteristics. Generate prioritized set of recommendations to improve performance. Lead efforts to implement approved recommendations. Assess effectiveness and quantify value delivered. Establish repeatable system for continual production performance assessment and feedback into actionable performance improvement recommendations. Work with multiple Software Engineering teams, Test Engineering and Support Engineering, as well as Product and Program Management, under minimal direction.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field 5+ years professional software development experience, preferably including C# .NET and NodeJS 3+ years experience in solution architecture on large scale systems Extensive experience in distributed systems performance monitoring and tuning Experience with New Relic Experience with Cloud based distributed microservices architectures Experience with RDBMS performance monitoring and tuning Experience with persistence and caching technologies, preferably Aurora, REDIS, Dynamo Results oriented self-starter with strong initiative and ability to learn quickly Systems thinker Data driven decision maker Excellent communication skills Nice to haves: Experience with GraphQL services highly desirable Experience with Amazon Web Services highly desirableEEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
