Start doing your life's best work.(sm) The Business Solutions Architect acts as a company thought leader, is considered a functional SME and collaborates with key business stakeholders, IT leadership and executive management in determining business growth strategy, bid/no bid decisions, and participates in RFI responses and competitive proposals. As a resource to senior leaders, the Solutions Architect works closely with other stakeholders to forecast and plan resource requirements in order to educate and participate in executive strategic decision-making activities. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Present high-level overviews and solutions of system architecture and integration capabilities to partners on cross-functional, segment teams and/or to external, executive decision makers
  • Lead consultative engagements and business plans with customers on complex and unique technical and business challenges
  • Lead large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives; may include leading a cross-functional team
  • Provide motivation and guidance to the technical teams, championing them to match the detailed design of the solution to the higher-level architecture
  • Predict and proactively identify project issues/risks and anticipate customer needs; present alternative solutions to alleviate, resolve or meet those needs
  • Travel to customers' and partners' sites for onsite discovery and solutions presentations. Not expected to exceed 25%

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 8+ years in business analysis, design, and translating business requirements into scalable, comprehensive IT solutions or equivalent combination of education, experience and/or applicable military experience will be considered
  • Advanced business acumen with the ability to understand and translate complex user and business challenges
  • Proven track record delivering complex, unique business solutions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly creative and experienced in designing innovative technology solutions for the business
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of all LHI MedNet suite of applications (MedNet, MedNetScan, RemoteEDoc, MedNet Portals, etc.)
  • Experience with Agile development frameworks
  • Proven ability to mentor junior and intermediate level designers, solutioners and analysts
  • You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas, In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, IT, MIS, computer science, human centered design, experience design or related field and/or applicable military experience will be considered.

As a requirement of UnitedHealth Group's contract with the Department of Defense, this position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense eQuip Form SF86 , (the National Agency Check Legal and Credit or NACLC ). Successful completion of the NACLC process is a requirement for continued employment in this role. NACLC processing will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer, and can take 3-6 months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense. Candidates will be allowed to begin employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance, and final results will be communicated as they are received.
