Beta Project Manager The Beta Project Manager plays a role in the development and validation of next-generation medication management solutions. As a member of Omnicell's Clinical Beta team, this position requires a passion for ensuring that pre-Generally Available (GA) products meet our internal and external customers' needs, have been validated in the field, and are properly transitioned to our Professional Services teams who will implement and support them. This person is responsible for providing general project management services and operational support for our most complex products and services requiring validation at our Beta sites. This person is the primary Omnicell representative for Beta customers, handling a wide range of customer interactions including requirements clarification, project planning, test planning, product validation, and troubleshooting. As a key stakeholder on the product development team, this person provides operational feedback to the team. When development products are ready for deployment to customer sites, this position engages in product installation and testing, and ensures that the required operational processes, tools, support materials, documentation, and training are in place so that our core operations teams are set-up for long-term success upon declaration of General Availability.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in workshops or other product design activities to provide input into operational workflows
  • Participate actively with core product development teams, product management workshops, design reviews, stakeholder meetings, and Beta activities providing input to ensure that development products are installable, the product enhancements will meet customer needs and that the implementation process is repeatable and sustainable.
  • Work with Product Management, Engineering and Directors of Systems Integration to define customer validation success metrics, plans, and timelines
  • Work with Product Management, Engineering, Directors of Systems Integration to produce qualitative and quantitative product assessments to product development teams and management
  • Assess whether or not existing pool of Beta customers can be utilized for specific Beta test opportunities.
  • Represent the Beta Team function to both our Product Development Team(s) and our External Beta customers
  • Manage individual Beta or Field Test customer Beta contract adherence, system integration issues, and overall Beta customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluate product readiness prior to Beta implementation
  • Act as primary project management resource for the Implementation / upgrade of Beta product at our Beta customer sites
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder expectations to ensure alignment with the overall project/program objectives
  • Establish regular communication strategy (status meetings, calls, etc.) with appropriate project stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Review and test deliverables defined in Beta Plan (e.g., documents, tools, support materials) in the customer environment / Assess any operational components that require editing or creation (e.g., )
  • Document Feedback about product function observed at our Beta sites in the Team Foundation Server (TFS) system
  • Attend appropriate meetings to provide verbal feedback about product function observed at our Beta sites
  • Evaluate product readiness prior to GA declaration
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen customer relationships
  • Collaborate with Training teams to transfer product knowledge for use in the development of employee and customer-facing education on new products and software releases.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills :
  • Ability to learn new technologies in non-traditional ways, before formal classes and documentation are available.
  • Ability to create new methods and procedures to advance team initiatives
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty and to work productively with constantly changing requirements, specifications, and priorities during the agile development process.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and a comfort level with direct communication to the senior management level.
  • Desire to help other departments in the company as well as external customers succeed through development of field-tested training, best practices, lessons learned and related programs.
  • Desire to lead team members through the execution of project activities.
  • PC skills with strong Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, and SharePoint capabilities.
  • Detail oriented with excellent problem solving, organization, and time management skills.

Travel Required: Position requires 30 - 70% travel

Basic Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's Degree + 5 years of work experience within software, implementation, training and/or documentation in a hospital and/or a healthcare vendor setting.
  • Associates Degree + 7 years of work experience within software, implementation, training and/or documentation in a hospital and/or a healthcare vendor setting.
  • Experience with pharmacy or nursing operations and workflows
  • Demonstrated history of cross-functional collaboration, customer-focus and ability to create visible value.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree
  • Project Management (PMP) certification
  • Experience with health-system level medication management operations (central pharmacy, nursing, supply chain, etc.)
  • Specific knowledge of Omnicell product offerings and customer base
  • Passion for driving operational success within new product launches

Work Conditions:
  • Office Environment. Preferred ability to work at Cranberry Woods or Mountain View, Omnicell o ffice locations.
