Engineer II, Software Quality The Engineer II, Software Quality is a developing professional who participates in providing quality assurance to Omnicell products. An ideal candidate will have testing experience using different tools and technologies, strong analytical abilities, teamwork and communication skills, and ability to maintain and extend functional and non-functional tests. This person applies their practical and theoretical knowledge from Computer Science and previous experience in Healthcare or a related industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of a team to design, develop, execute and maintain manual and automation test cases
  • Participate and assist in coordinating discussions and estimations required for product release planning
  • Collaborate with software engineers in all phases of testing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team on documentation and training
  • Creates functional, non-functional, and integration testing environment or components for testing
  • Conduct root cause analyses of defects (replicate, debug) for moderate to complex features with limited assistance.
  • Works with design, development, and the product owner to identify high risk test areas early in the development process
  • Create and organize effective test strategy and planning to ensure software quality and to confirm business, technical and functional requirements.
  • Develop highly effective working relationships with product owners, developers and other team members in support of the software process to ensure that releases are tested and ready for a production environment.
  • Understand how Omnicell solutions meet our customers' needs and how our suite of products are used across the continuum of care
  • Contribute towards automation testing at appropriate levels (backend, API, UI) based on project requirements.

Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Proficient in manual and automation software quality engineering methodologies, processes and frameworks
  • Proficient in SQL, PostgreSQL, & other databases
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledgeable in Agile/Scrum software development lifecycle management

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other technical field such as Math or Science
  • 2+ Years of experience in quality

Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare Industry Experience
  • Agile/Scrum software development lifecycle management
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding code written in programing languages like C#, Javascript, or Java
  • Proficiency in software automated testing tools like Ranorex, Protractor, or Selenium
  • Proficiency in GUI testing, web application testing, API testing, and business intelligence or data warehouse testing
  • Proficiency in functional, integration, performance, white box, black box, web services and API testing
  • Experience with cloud platform such as AWS or Microsoft Azure
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, AWS, Azure, TFS, Jenkins & Dockers
  • Knowledge of distributed source code control like Git, TFS, etc.
  • Related Math or Science degree
  • Linux or UNIX skills
