Job Number: 233386Configuration Management Specialist (CM)Fort Mead MD/Columbia MDOur client is seeking a Configuration Management (CM) Specialist who will be a team member of a dynamic, multi-disciplined team responsible for configuration and release management of a Department of Defense mission application that supports endpoint security directives. This role will be responsible for managing software configurations as well as miscellaneous utilities and scripts. Position requires a System Administration background to assist with the planning of CM server layout and configuration, as well as COTS/GOTs software installation. Candidate will manage baseline configuration for all project related work and be responsible for managing software releases. Where applicable the job will also require participation in the software development lifecycle to include testing and creation/maintenance of release documents.Duties:

  • Responsible for configuration management planning and audits to verify that requirements of all baselines have been met by the as-built software.
  • Describes provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting and configuration audits.
  • Identifies and maintains the original configuration of requirements documentation, design documentation, software, and related documentation.
Skills
  • Experience in leading in Service Asset and Configuration Management in a challenging environment.
  • Experience and strong subject matter expertise with IT Service Management processes including Configuration, Change, Incident, Problem and Release Management.
  • Specialized knowledge of defining, documenting and implementing Asset Management and Configuration Management processes for both hardware and software CIs.
  • Well-versed on ITIL Service Lifecycle Management Processes - ITIL v3 certification.
  • Experience with working across a complex multi supplier environment to achieve desired results.
  • Experience with IT Service Management toolsets (e.g. Service Now, Microsoft SCCM)
  • Current experience of assets and CMDB models and methodology.
  • Understanding of Service organizations and the impact of deployment on CMDB.
  • CM control of Installation/Deployment packages.
  • Process build reports and resolve noted discrepancies.
  • Planned repository organization and branch scheme
Requirements/Education:
  • Requires 3+ years' experience
  • This position requires ability to maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
