job summary:The Director of Infrastructure is responsible for delivering reliable IT infrastructure, security administration and database operations to the company while advancing technology-related objectives, and effectively planning for the company's technology needs. This position is also responsible for providing functional leadership to the infrastructure, security administration and database teams. location: Rochester, New Yorkjob type: Permanentsalary: $120,000 - 130,000 per yearwork hours: 8am to 5pmeducation: Bachelors responsibilities:

  • Leads the platform infrastructure, database systems engineering, and platform operations.
  • Provides leadership and mentorship to infrastructure management and team.
  • Motivates and coaches employees to meet expectations for productivity, quality, and goals.
  • Facilitates communication between staff, management, client and vendors within the organization.
  • Determines key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Infrastructure team and ensures outward communication to the organization.
  • Develops, executes, and manages IT objectives and strategies within corporate budgets.
  • Oversees the design of the corporate network, VPN, internet and voice communication systems.
  • Ensures appropriate IT tools, software, hardware and other technology are being used to streamline internal operations and are best optimized for performance.
  • Evaluates the current architecture and design of physical deployments and identifies changes that may improve/advance these processes.
  • Assesses and reviews the positioning of third-party hosting vendors, monitoring tools, and other solutions for hosting, monitoring, and securing the platform.
  • Maintains working knowledge of public-Cloud architectures and emerging patterns in infrastructure design.
  • Maintains platform requirements including scalability, data protection, systems performance, business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Participates in PCI compliance and annual attestation as well as other data privacy compliance programs.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of database backups, implementations, system performance, access controls, and security.
  • Remains familiar with tools and technology to assist with ETL functions.
  • Contributes to direct database development when additional development capacity is required.
  • Evaluates and contributes to existing and new relational database implementation.
  • Supports the maintenance of on-prem non-production systems that support active development and testing.
  • Evaluates the current state of delivery processes between software engineering, database, and infrastructure software release activities.
