job summary:Technical Project Manager - Network InfrastructureWe are seeking a technical project manager to lead our PM efforts in the deployment of a new global WAN infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with telecom carriers, data center operations, and change management processes. The PM will coordinate with internal stakeholders and engineers as well as vendor representatives to ensure the successful and timely delivery of the WAN platform into service within budget.Hight Level Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of IT projects, focusing on large-scale networks transformation
  • Remotely manage vendor partners responsible for circuit deployments in branch offices and data centers around the globe
  • Coordinate scope of work and timelines for all delivery objectives with executives.
  • Coordinate and manage the risk, dependencies, budget, and quality at program level.
  • Provide periodic structured reporting and communications on project status, risks, and deliverables.
  • Point person for ensuring that change management functions are coordinated to support the on-time roll-out of all work.
  • Engage with stakeholders in Engineering, Operations, Security and Procurement teams to meet project deliverables.
  • Coordinate vendors, hardware and telecom, to assure proper order of operations to meet site delivery objectives.
  • Many activities will occur after hours, this role will require some after-hours work in order to ensure coordination of activity for a release event.
Specific knowledge/skills required:
  • You must possess a clear understanding of commercial datacenter (Equinix, Digital Realty, Coresite, etc) and telecom (CenturyLink, Verizon, Megaport, Zayo, Crown Castle, Verizon, etc) service delivery operations and delivery pitfalls.
  • Familiar with on-premise network services delivery challenges including extending demarcations, LOAs, vendor bonding requirements, health controls and requirements, and local business staff coordination.
  • Good command of current commercial network technology and their associated implementation objectives. In essence, the expectation is that the candidate will have a good understanding of each technology and what dependencies are usually associated with a successful implementation. MPLS, WAVE Circuits, Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper, BGP; Riverbed, etc
  • Familiar with project management tools and network topology tools such as MS Project, MS Visio, MS Excel, Trello, Netbox
  • Network/Datacenter Terms that should be well understood: Cross-connects; As-Builts; Rack-Units (RU); PDU; LOA; DMARC; Cloud VPCs and Transit Gateways; LC-to-SC; Single-mode; Multi-mode; High-availability; GBIC; SFP+
