Job Description

We are currently seeking a Technical Support Specialist, to join our Kumba Iron Ore family. This is a key role within the Integrated Planning & Operating Model team that will work very closely with the Sishen Leadership Team and the General Manager. In this role you will be responsible to:

  • Support the Leadership Team through both good time and crises and change
  • Data analysis to support management to make informed decisions
  • Reporting and packaging of strategic messages to an array of audiences
  • Facilitate a culture in which safety and health is paramount and that results in zero fatalities
  • Analyse own behaviours and impact on others and adapt behaviours to suit context and circumstances
  • Observe ‘self’ in a variety of one-to-one and group encounters, reflecting and learning from the interactions, requesting feedback, and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Recognise and accept the need to put the overall business needs ahead of their own and can deal with the internal conflict/stress that may generate
  • Understand your role as a team member and translate it into their day-to-day interactions
  • Understand the behavior of individuals and the effects on the team
  • Establish and nurture relationships with stakeholders, by use of effective listening and questioning to better understand the other person or group and support their true needs
  • Understand how to influence or negotiate with others, in order to achieve productive outcomes
  • Effectively balance positive interactions with getting the work done

Qualifications

You will need the following:

  • Grade 12
  • A Tertiary qualification (Engineering, Geology, Finance, Commercial) or equivalent qualifying NQF level 7 qualification
  • 3 years’ experience in the mining industry
  • Knowledge of Mining value chain
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Advanced Computer literacy skills – Proficient in MS Office
  • Must be medically fit
