United States Seafoods is a factory trawler company that fishes out of Alaska. We are looking for a cook with at least THREE years’ experience on a fishing vessel to prepare 3-4 meals per day for crew of 65.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that all health code regulations are met
Plan menus and maintain budgeted meal costs
Ensuring that food variety for diversified crew and including proper nutritional and caloric levels of food for crew
Enforce and uphold all company policies
Responsible for communicating with the office and food vendors on food orders and incorrect orders received.
Prepares food and supply orders for galley and housekeeping and manages inventory for maximum cost effectiveness and efficiency
Promotes and maintains galley rules to enhance comfort and cleanliness of galley and common areas
Maintains a high level of professionalism and customer service at all times
Quality onboard is everyone's responsibility. All crewmembers are to strive to maintain the highest quality of product produced onboard the vessel.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Should be familiar with current sanitation requirements and procedures.
Must be available to work 3 months at-sea at a time.
Must be able to work with a diverse staff and crew.
