Description:The Associate Director, Financial Reporting is a highly visible key role, which reports to the Senior Director, Financial Reporting. Significant responsibilities include preparing SEC Filings, performing technical accounting research, leading process improvement initiatives, maintaining SOX compliance, and managing lease and restructuring accounting.

Essential Functions:Manage time line for SEC reporting. Prepare SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 11-K, S-8,8-K, Registration Statements and Proxy), press releases and call scripts. Maintain Wdesk (financial reporting system) and related analysis that support the preparation of SEC filings. Review XBRL included in Form 10-K and 10-Q filings.

Analyze and resolve complex accounting and reporting issues, including interpreting external technical accounting proposals and pronouncements.

Lead process improvement initiatives related to financial accounting and reporting.

Maintain effective internal controls and manage internal and external audits.

Train the organization on non-GAAP policy and review non-GAAP reporting for compliance with policy.

Manage the accounting for leases and restructuring activities.

Education:Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance - Required

Experience:10 years or more in 10-14 years Big 4 and industry related experience in an SEC reporting role

10 years or more in Management of projects or people.

10 years or more in Experience addressing Sarbanes-Oxley internal control requirements

5 years or more in Pharmaceuticals or life science company experience

Skills:Deep technical knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements - Advanced

Multi-national public company experience preferred - Advanced

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel - Advanced

Proficiency with Wdesk - Advanced

Specialized Knowledge:Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong interpersonal and influencing skills

Detail oriented and collaborative work style

Ability to work with ambiguity

Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines

Self-motivated learner

Licenses:Active CPA license required-Upon Hire-Required
