Full-TimePosition DetailsWesleyan University invites applications for an Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in American Studies. We seek a scholar whose research focuses on the cultures and/or history of indigenous peoples in North America. The fellowship includes significant opportunities for scholarly research and professional development and entails teaching one course per term originating in the American Studies Department. Ph.D. must be received before July, 2021, and preferably since 2017. Annual stipend of $50,000, research/travel funds, and health insurance. Renewable for a second year.Wesleyan is a highly selective liberal arts college that values both scholarship and teaching very highly and has a strong, diverse undergraduate student body.Minimum QualificationsPh.D. must be received before July 2021, and preferably since 2017.Management CompetenciesCompetenciesSpecial Instructions To Applicants You will be asked to upload electronic versions of the items we require, which are a (1) cover letter, (2) curriculum vitae, (3) writing sample (maximum 30 pages), (4) statement of current research, and documentation of teaching experience, including (5) teaching statement, (6) course syllabi, and (7) student evaluations. As part of the teaching statement (or cover letter), we invite you to describe your cultural competencies and experiences engaging a diverse student body.You will also be asked to provide the email addresses of three referees from whom we may obtain confidential letters of recommendation (please double-check the accuracy of the email addresses of the referees you name to insure that you have the most up-to-date email addresses for each one).After you have submitted all of the required documents, you will see a confirmation number.
