If you are interested please send your updated resume, contact information and questions to Craig atJob DetailsStart- ASAPDuration- Long TermHours- 40+ per weekCompetitive PayScope-Marine ElectricianPer Diem IncludedPrimary Function:Position supports new vessel AC and DC wiring of all ship service power for motors, generators, communications, navigation, audio/visual, system monitors, pumps, winches, appliances, lighting and all other equipment.Primary Responsibilities:To perform the primary job requirements satisfactorily and safely.

Performs installation, termination and testing of various copper cable assemblies.

Installs various AC/DC switchboards and connections.

Installs appropriate wiring for motors, generators and controllers.

Installs both general electrical and lighting services.

Shoots studs to support cable hangers and wire way racks.

Assures proper cable types meeting utility/system specifications.

Installs communications and navigation systems.

Follows engineering drawings, electrical schematics, layout drawings and specifications consistent with marine ship structure.

All other duties and tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements :2-3 years of commercial and or residential wiring experience desired with some exposure to marine AC/DC applications desired but not necessary.Vocational or technical school training or other equivalent OJT training desired.Strong electrical/mechanical aptitude with fundamental understanding of various wiring application codes.Prefer an understanding of ABS requirements and or ABYC, however, not required.Understanding of wiring schematics and design prints as well as troubleshooting electrical systems and circuits.Must have own basic electrician tools (request tool requirement list)Physical Requirements:Must be able to periodically lift 30 pounds.Must be to stand, walk, use stairs, sit, lift, carry objects, perform overhead reaching in all directions, pushing, pulling twisting, climbing, balancing, bending, crouching, work from heights, work in confined space as necessary with required electrical systems. Must have good manual dexterity and eye to hand coordination with working various sizes of electrical wiring, connections and breaker fuses.RequirementsMarine Electricians are responsible for installation of electronic and navigational systems onboard vessels of all size.Must have working knowledge and experience in operation, maintenance, and repair and or installation of cableways, motors, motor controllers, and Limit torque Valves, limit switches, proximity switches, hydraulic pumping units, hybrid relay and standard electronic module controllers

Will perform work on Deck-edge Elevator Systems, Platform Locking Systems, Deck-edge Doors, Hangar Bay Divisional Doors, Flight Deck Safety Stanchion System, Weapon Elevator Systems, Vertical Package Conveyors, Armored Hatches, Vertical and Horizontal Sliding Watertight Doors. Experience with this equipment is a plus

Under general supervision, performs standard and non-standard work that is dependent on trade specialty

Works from blueprints, tech manuals

Receives instructions on semi-routine and difficult assignments

May provide training and guidance to lower levels

Performs all necessary tasks (semi-skilled and unskilled) laboring duties related to the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of systems and equipment
