About this OpportunityAs a Catering Manager - Food Service, you'll plan and coordinate catering events.What You'll DoYou'll have opportunities to speak up, solve problems, lead others, and be an owner every day as youAssist in the selection of menu items, schedule catering staff, and arrange set up and needed equipment.

Communicate directly with catering requestors to help plan their event and provide quotes that fit budgetary needs.

Conduct audits and customer survey forms to ensure employee and customer satisfaction.

Develop and implement a catering program that aligns with Herman Miller's mission and vision, including sustainable practices.

Maintain a safe and healthy environment for customers and employees.

Comply with all applicable policies, rules, and regulations, including, but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wage, and hour.

Manage the budget, including cost controls with regard to food, beverage, and labor.

Manage resources to ensure quality and consistent control within budgetary guidelines.

Plan, direct, and coordinate all catering events.

Provide measures in the areas of cost competitiveness, customer service, safety, and employee satisfaction.

Research and maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and trends and how they may optimize current business practices.

Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Sound Like You?You might be just who we're looking for if you haveA Bachelor's degree in a Business-related area or equivalent hotel, restaurant, and institutional management experience.

Five years of experience in food services and the management of a restaurant or equivalent facility.

Supervisory skills with the ability to create an environment of teamwork and participation.

Effective problem-solving skills.

Communication and customer service skills to successfully interact with vendors and employees at all levels of the organization.

The ability to interpret and correctly react to people, incidences, or situations that are open to misunderstanding due to cultural differences.

The ability to work effectively with a variety of internal and external business partners.

Organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to be self-motivated and work independently.

An expert ability to think strategically and execute tactically.

Financial literacy, well-developed business acumen, and a profit conscious mindset.

The ability to use good independent judgment.

Well-developed leadership, communication, and interpersonal relationship skills.

In-depth knowledge of hospitality management activities and practices.

The ability to use the office automation, communication, software, and tools in the Herman Miller office environment.

Demonstrated leadership competence as defined in Herman Miller’s leadership Competency Model.

The ability to travel as needed to achieve business objectives.

The ability to perform all essential job functions of the position with or without accommodations.
